If you’re a customer of Rural Telecom Inc. (RTI), setting up your email on various devices and email clients is straightforward. Your RTCI.net email address typically follows the format user@rtci.net. Below are the POP3 and IMAP server settings you’ll need to configure your email.

POP3 Server Settings for RTI Email

Use these settings if you prefer to download and store your emails locally on your device.

  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.rtci.net
    • Port: 995
  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.rtci.net
    • Port: 465
  • SSL: Enabled

IMAP Server Settings for RTI Email

IMAP is recommended if you access your email from multiple devices, as it syncs your emails across all devices.

  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.rtci.net
    • Port: 993
  • SSL: Enabled
  • Username: user@rtci.net

SMTP Server Settings for Outgoing Mail

For sending emails, use the following SMTP settings:

  • Server: smtp.rtci.net
  • Port: 465
  • SSL: Enabled
  • Username: user@rtci.net
  • User/Pass Authentication Required

Setting Up Your RTI Email on Various Devices

iOS Devices (iPhone, iPad)

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Other.
  2. Select Add Mail Account and enter your details.
  3. For incoming mail, use the IMAP or POP3 settings as above.
  4. For outgoing mail, use the SMTP server settings provided.

Android Devices

  1. Open your email app (e.g., Gmail) and navigate to Settings.
  2. Add a new email account and choose either IMAP or POP3.
  3. Enter the respective incoming and outgoing server settings.

Windows Mail

  1. Open Mail and go to Settings > Manage Accounts > Add Account > Other Account.
  2. Enter your email and password, then input the IMAP or POP3 settings for incoming mail and SMTP settings for outgoing mail.

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.
  2. Choose Manual setup and select either POP3 or IMAP.
  3. Enter the incoming and outgoing server details as provided.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird and go to Create a new account: Email.
  2. Choose Skip this and use my existing email.
  3. Enter your email address and password, then configure the IMAP or POP3 and SMTP settings.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure SSL is enabled for both incoming and outgoing servers to secure your email communication.
  • Remember to use your full email address (user@rtci.net) as the username.
  • If you encounter any issues, restart your email client and re-enter the settings.
